I created this card for a challenge, but I was too late to enter and missed the InLinkz cut off. Still, I wanted to share this card with you.
I think I was having a “Free Willy” moment when I created this card. I love that movie and I love seeing killer whales leap out of the water. It’s such an incredible sight.
I painted the background of this card onto fluid watercolor paper using thick lines in Tahitian Tide and Night of Navy in varying intensities. I added more ink or more water to the lines to give a lighter or darker color.
The whale was stamped in Memento ink and the wave in Tahitian Tide. I punched out the image with a circle punch and the Stylish Shapes dies to add a matte.
The sentiment came from the Beautiful Balloons stamp set. A Pool Party ribbon and various enamel dots added the accents.
